Hi,
I'm interested in buying a Whites GMT. Just wondering if any one had GMT for sale.

Cheers
Nathan

Look on Ebay I got one 2 years ago and if they say US only you beg it costs about $100 for shipping from the US. I see a seller in Australia has one for sale for $700 AUD. I also bought a 5" DD ( from a company in Australia) to push between rocks, it is not more sensitive just more selective, you can turn up the gain and have a better chance of getting closer to small gold not that I have found any yet with it. I have found the detector works well is easy enough to use but you need to read all the info and practice with it. The Whites GMT gives you enough information to feel confident about what your target is and it is as good as any of the other VLF detectors for gold.
I don't know if it is any better than the Xterra 705 with a small DD. With the Whites GMT doing air tests I get at best about 100mm (4") on small stuff (0.1g or less) and 150mm (6") on 0.5g nuggets. The Xterra 705 can be used for all sorts of metal objects and has a gold prospecting mode as does the Whites XLT. The Whites GMT has more features and makes ground balancing easy but is pretty much suitable for gold only as it doesn't block signals from trash although it gives you a % chance of the object being gold.
The next alternative is the Garrett Infinium (Pulse Induction) there is one on Trademe now $1949 new I think you can get about 300mm on big targets and 150mm on small stuff, it requires a lot of practice and you dig deeper holes also finding your target takes longer (that one is on my wish list as is the Minelab GPX 5000 after I win lotto).
I suspect the Fisher Gold Bug and the Minelab Eureka are no worse or better than any of the above VLF detectors they are all different and have different features and benefits but the PI devices like the Garrett Infinium get better depth if you can put up with finding every bit of junk and have the $$$.

Hi, I came across Whites Gmt on trademe. The auction closed today with no one interested. IT was 1100 start, i am sure you can get it cheaper of that trader.

If buy from overseas you may have to pay GST on top of a purchase price and shipping.

Good luck !!!
