I've recently moved from Christchurch as my wife and kids left after the Feb shake and I stayed in Chch to finish work commitments. After an extremely taxing year, finally being back with family and life slowly falling back into place I picked up my old mans detector (been about 7 years since I last used one) and realized how much I missed this past time where a relatively relaxing action changes to intense concentration and excitement in a matter of seconds and how the hobby is so multi tiered, it's not just the detecting or fossicking but how it involves all the research and fun of building creative gadgetry, it's funny how it engulfs everyday life and how when walking through a shop you see an alternative use for almost any given product.

I would love to learn to fossick properly and just get out and clear the old melon and that's what brought me here.
I must add I'm really impressed with how friendly most of the people seem here and willing to share information and experiences Well Done You!!!

Cheers guys

Gregg.
