Well my trip to the coast was great, first went to Slab Hut and walked up the river for around 3/4 hr until my ticker neally killed me, I got a few specks in my pan but nothing that exciting. Awsome afternoon thou jst been out in the bush chilling. On the Sunday I nipped into Greymouth to catchup with some motorcycle racing mates at the street races there and then I headed up to the nelson creek area. I got there fairly late but I went out with my pan, box etc and not even a speck. Up to the small country pub for tea and hit the pit. Up early Monday and back up in the hills, Talked to a old chap and he pointed me to a good spot, got a few good specks , I had given up on the box as the water flows were way down in the rivers so it just didnt seem to work very well but it could have been me as well not having used it very much. I decided to call it quits, packed up and started heading back to camp. With luck I tripped in a hole and my gear went flying and buggered my knee. I decided to scrape out the bottom of the hole as one last bash and I am now a very very happy old fella, my first propper gold ya ha, I still cant believe it, Im stoked.
