Hi there. Cool post. I would like to of had a go with a 250 before gettin the 350. Ive only ever really used my machine before. So in saying that i reckon it would be nice to have a 250 as a back up machine. Ive thought about it. Cant afford another one yet. Nice one.

G'day Shane, Your 350 would have to be a better unit than the 250. I just posted these comments of Steves as it is good food for thought. I have had a bit of involvement with Steves site when he first started it. Not so much lately but I drop in to it now & again. Steve has just got back from a months detecting in Western Australia with Jonathen Porter. If you gaze the gold forum sites you may know who Jonathen Porter is. If you dont then you wont know who he is.
Hope labour weekend gets you out there making some nice finds.

Cheers JW, happy hunting too. Ive started running some tests on my 350. with only lead and a thin gold ring. Piks it up well enough at depth but the signal is dubious to say the least. Mostly came up as iron but bounced off various other. Was hard to tell. This concerns me as usually lead pops up quite well on the screen. So wots gonna happen when i cross over gold, small gold, or deep gold. Well i dont know yet but im left wondering how much G ive buzzed over for a faint signal. When on the goldfields do you dig all beeps/hits or do most gold detectors read gold on a strike.
More tests coming up.
Anyone out there got a 250. We can match tests. Or any machine. I will bury a 2 ounce sinker (size of a marble) at 300mm, 400mm and 500mm.

Hi Shane, When on the goldfields I dig EVERYTHING. That is why it can be a bit frustrating when you dig up heaps of rubbish. But you just have to do it & it is all part of the "game". You just have to ground balance your mind to that fact & not be too dissapointed when it does turn out to be rubbish. Which may be nine times out of ten.

Happy hunting

JW :)

Yes. that sounds about right. I would probably imagine digging all hits if i was out there too. Maybe not with a 250 but the 350 has a better chance id say. In sayin that, chacing nuggets with a 350 and smaller gold aint gonna work after 250mm of dirt. Burried a 2-3 ounce sinker yesterday at 450mm and no beep. At 300 yes, and 4g aprox, at 200. Yet to test more. Gold, there somewhere...lol. All good.
