Yeah Tony....the whistle is very cool........ Nice bunch of BIG silvers also.
I agree with Roy............I think the stone in the brooch is most probably jet. I thought initially that it was a mourning brooch to commemorate Queen Vic's death but seeing that the letter date is wrong for this period, I guess not. Still may have been sold as a mourning brooch tho. Was it near the three big silvers?

Great finds again Tony.
Just wondering what people were doing in this area to drop all the silver and gold?
Is it an old pub site or something like?

For sure. After hearing of the sov finds we headed out in search of and dug every foil, ringpull and suspected GOLD signal we could at an old time spot. Its those tiny blips down deep that you dont dig that make you wonder.

Once again, you've nailed some super finds there Tony. Another Charles Horner.... Bloody brilliant!! The commemorative medal is real cool too and looks to be in good nic for it's age.
No idea what the looped hooks are for. They look to be very worn so they were obviously well used for whatever purpose. I'm sure someone out there will know.

Have you had a response about the whistle yet?
