Been trawling some pre war maps this evening, number of times I've come across this situation is a bit depressing...


Mind you, found some real tasty plots too!

Yeah the whole Auckland Airport precinct has changed significantly in the last 10 years. Lots of old farms dating to early settlement in the area would have been prime targets, but now are the sites of warehouses and car parks.

Thanks for the interesting set of pics MW.....you can't stop progress I guess.
Looking at it from the glass is half full perspective ......there is a lot of back yards in the 2015 pic :)
I have often drooled over old books and pics of Dunedin's three exhibition sites .... All covered in Tarmac, shops and commercial buildings now.

Except one site which I believe is an off limits area, but its surroundings has some potential.

Ha ha on closer inspection it's one big back yard, is that a carpark or maybe containers?
