If you have a spare $1,800
ONLY 5 LEFT!
I'd love to know how they perform, water proof even :O
Not gold plated sadly, it would sure be easy to find one lost in grass - then again you'd have to find it! 8o

[definitely a money laundering scheme!]

Take My Money!!!

At that price, you wouldn't even have to leave the house - it must go out and fetch the goodies back to you, cleaned and sorted :)

For those considering purchase, please view this Jaycar one for $80!
I believe they are identical.

They look similar to the F - pointer. At that price I might by one and leave it in a prominent spot at the 3d Spot for the chap who keeps digging giant holes with a garden spade.

How about burying a penny and a note in a snap seal bag for the guy or guyess with the large garden spade.
I have seen some large plugs around too so would be good to try and educate whoever.

Put some of these up :)

I'd just use short strips of the copper plant labels from the garden centre or stamp/engrave the pennies - no sense in adding more plastic to the topsoil.
Don't go overboard though, I'd get cheesed off pretty quick if I started digging a 'tagged' penny every eight targets in one of my regular haunts :)

Dont' you DARE waste good copper on him. Get some Canslaw in there, better yet, foil drink seals.
If someone left me tagged coins I'd be laughing out loud. Go ahead test it, if you see me about... at night... lurking in Western Springs ;))) among the ducks and eels in the pond.

For what it is worth, I tested the one offered by Jaycar, in shop this morning. (they have 4 in Dunedin branch.)
While they look great, are very robust by the feel of them and waterproof (?) They do not beep, are not very sensitive,
are extremely inconsistent, ie often don't work, due to a very slow recovery time, and sometimes continue vibrating etc,
upon removal from target vicinity, until turned off. I tested all 4 on 2 small gold nuggets and one of 4 grams, air rifle pellets,
a silver sixpence and a penny. The obliging sales guy said he'd "feel guilty selling them" after assisting with the testing,
but still returned all 4 to their shelf. Looks like I need fork out for a Garret. Bugger!

Update! I gave my test of these devices further thought and decided I had been unfair, so purchased one and wish to provide additional, more positive comment on the following basis.
They are a pin pointer and as such are designed to locate metal items at about 35mm. My criticism of the slow recovery time is irrelevant, for the user is generally only trying to locate the one item in a hole etc.
True they do false on occasion, when the tip is pressed hard into the bottom or sides of a hole. The solution to this shouldn't need explaining. Re setting when they continue vibrating is no big deal.
They are no Garrett, but mine has greatly assisted me to find the 80% of coins which were not readily observed
upon plug removal/inspection. Its effectiveness and my improved pinpointing with the Goldbug Pro, (11 inch coil) has enabled me to remodel my already small digging shovel, to where it now resembles a garden hand trowel with a 350 mm handle. Plugs when I dig them, rather than 'cross cut' turf, are now only 80mm square.
My tech friend is in the process of replacing the very mild vibrator with a beeper...got to be an improvement.
The Digitech Pinpointer available for under $80.00 NZ wide, doesn't fall apart like some name brands.
Friends borrow mine regularly. I am more than happy with it.

Noticed these were still up today, despite complaining to ebay & nzpolice.
So filed a report to Interpol.
