Hunt #1: Our favourite spot.
We managed to spare a few hours after work at our favourite spot. The hunt started slow, but, after a while, it picked up.
As we were walking a line we had walked many times, we stumbled upon a nice two-cent signal. After popping the clod and having a quick buzz with the 'pointer, we found a nice New Zealand 1937 florin! Been a long time coming...
Hunt #2: Our Favourite spot (again):
We got out for another few hours again and scored a few silvers including a mint 1914 GB 3p. We also managed our first lead toy, although, mangled by the mower (bugger).
Hunt #3: A New Spot:
After a ton of research, research and more research, we managed to find the location of
CENSORED. There had been A&P shows happening there for some 100 years, so, we thought that it might be worth a try for some old gold and silver! Targets were few and far between, the majority of them being 1 and 2 cent pieces. After an hour or so of hunting, we managed to score our first silver: an NZ shilling. A sixpence followed, and then, a $1 signal turned up a beautiful sterling silver and amethyst ring. (someone had fat fingers) Overall, a promising spot with much potential! We also scored an old brass bit (horse tack).
