It's real nice looking gold that's for sure but is there any left???? you would have to find quite a few ounces to pay of that sort of money but you would have a ball doing it in a place like that.

Yeah well I think that given it was only granted 4 years ago he wont have dredged the whole thing yet. Would need 50oz just to break pay back your investment.... Probably that much in the photos! Its a big bit of river and back in the day 50 ounces will have been a common find in those parts of the world. Anyway I will keep dreaming, I haven't got a spare 75k at the moment.
And now....On sandy beaches and muddy soil, rings and coins await my coil!

Lol neither me on the cash front but you gotta have a dream eh!!
If you can only use a four inch dredge i guess it would take a fair while to do it properly but you could cream the top off if you know what I mean I have a mate that took out a claim down in that area quite a few years back as a bit of investment/ hobby he only worked it for two days
9 ounces the first 11 the second sold it to the farmer a week later for 55k or something like that not a bad hourly rate eh lol tinny bugger

53954 put that in the nzpam website search.
If it wasn't this claim then it was a similar one on a river somewhere south of Lake Wakatipu.
The claim was a single section of river & he'd had a good bit of gold come out of it with lots of nice sized nuggets around 5g size.
I feel he was the only claim holder in the area, but I could be wrong.
