People have in the past asked "what is the track like" so I have made a video of my last trip into the DOC hut at Louis Creek. Enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhJuIySyvHk

Cheers, Ken.

Hi nafcd,

The Corona would make it as far as the first track down to the creek but after that the going gets a bit tough for 2wd. So yeah, the gravel road reverts to a forestry track after the ford over the creek, but I have seen lots of 2wd's make it up there. It's a bit rough but nothing that would give you any major problems.

Sorry, I didn't take any pics of my fossicking effort. The Saturday was a bust for me really, spent most of the day clearing a spot to dig and only ran three buckets of dirt through my sluice with not much color. Sunday was a totally different day I ran nine buckets and found some nice flakes, a total of 0.78g for the day's effort. It the way it goes, just as you start getting on to the gold , it's time to pack up and head home. Just as I started to pack things up the rain came, and it pissed down got all my camp gear wet and me as well.

Cheers, Ken.

Hahaha someone gave video a thumbs down.

You need to give me the playlist please - that music is great.
When I'm down that way in a months time or so I'd love to catch up, I detect, but would be happy to help you move some rocks around & shovel some gravel for you (I've got a small shovel & wetsuit).

Hi Dave,

The water temp isn't too bad. It only starts to bite when you are wrestling with the rocks under water and your arms are in the water for a length of time.

Hi GoldPandemic,

The playlist... well from memory I think it goes like this...

Led Zeppelin, Good times bad times-Alan Parsons Project, Eye In The Sky- The Band, Up On Cripple Creek- Rolling Stones, Shattered- Credence Clearwater Revival, Susie Q.

My Mum told me "never stop a willing worker" so P.M. me when you are down this way and we can arrange a meet up and attack the creek, throw some rocks around, sluice some gravels, find some gold and have a few laughs.

Cheers, Ken.

Ah, I thought it was Zepplin.
Thinking about throwing rocks about makes me feel fitter already!
Cheers, will do.
