Hi, I am in Cambodia on Vacation just finished 2000 hours of work in 6 months in the Klondike and I need to stay busy. I am in two Tv Show: Yukon Gold and Gold Rush Alaska (really brief appearances) I have sluiced 8000 ounces of gold in the last three years. I do archives search, drill, plan the digs, remove the overburden, recover the pay gravel, sluice it, recover it and reclaim the land. I also do gold suction dredging and visited many bucketline dredge. I operate everything with controls and joysticks. I have Experience mining in California, Cambodia, Yukon, Quebec. I speak French, English and basic Khmer

In terms of wages per week that's not too bad although by the sounds of it you are earning way more over the atlantic :P .

I do 84 hours a week (44 hours of overtime) 4 to 6 months room and food provided. I get 2 or 3 days off per month, most go CRAZY after 3rd-4th month. We make money only because of the overtime. 20-30CAD$ an hour. The oil patch went down so these years are not good for newcomers. Oil patch pays way more. The Yukon is good for a less than 35 years old single male or a woman with a good set of balls (5-10% of workers are woman) than can be away for 6 months.

Well if you were to do a 40 hour week here on $20/h it is livable if your single, your gross income after tax would be $35,360 or $680 a week which is not bad but its certainly not gonna make you a millionaire either :P .
