Some time ago some information was posted on the forum re details of freight forwarding companies able to be used to get goods from the USA.

I have been unable to find the relevant post.

Any details of a good one to use, or can you refer me to the post.

I want to get a minelab from the states but no one will send directly to a NZ address.

You could try american autos here in chch. they have brought stuff over for me before. they do usually import v8 parts etc but they would be able to help im sure.
I was looking at importing a detector also but was unsure what the duty would be. Do you happen to know?

If you look in "General Discussions" under "Kellyco". No duty on metal detectors. Shilo was good enough to supply the paperwork to confirm this.

There is no problem importing the things, except for Minelab. Even after freight and GST, there is still a considerable saving to be made, you just have to get them here somehow.

Purely a question of dollars.

Including shipping, NZ$985 plus GST and charges to buy from the states, compared to $1795 to buy in NZ. That's just for a basic 705. When you include the free extras and include a pro pointer and a second coil, the dollar savings become greater.

Here's a bunch of companies I found:

http://www.shipito.com/
https://bongous.com
http://www.bundlebox.com/

Would be worth looking online for customer reviews though before diving in!

Cheers,
Gavin

I bring all sorts of things in from the us ( Motorcycle parts etc and my detector) just remember that if the cost is over NZ$700 inc freight you will have to pay 15% GST when it comes in. Many US companies will send to NZ freight varies but ball park US$65-$90 just be aware some warranties are not worldwide.
