Hi there all.

A friend recently gave me a Mine Lab Pro-Find 25 Pin Pointer that doesn't go. He said I can keep it if i can get it to work. But alas, I can't figure out whats wrong with it.

Does anyone know how to fix Pin-pointers? I could offer a reward to anyone that can.

Based in Dunedin,

Cheers

Mark

"Doesn't go" is any number of faults.

If it doesn't fire up, I'd firstly clean the battery contacts and test with a new battery
Then I'd be looking at the switch
After that, well, there's not a lot that's user-servicable inside these things...

Good luck.

(If it is the switch, consider replacing with a momentary rather than an on-off, I find my Garrett much quicker and easier this way)

Sorry Should have clarified that a bit better. It won't turn on at all. Have tried fresh batteries, and using a bit of tin foil on the battery contacts and 'm not getting any reply from it.

I'd say either the switch has broken, or it's had water inside.

Bin it and grab an X-Pointer :)

I'll give it a shot, I've got soldering irons, voltimetres, good electronic shops nearby.
I might even water proof it for you 😀
