I'll be in town for a course on Monday 20th, but coming down (very) early Sunday 19th for some swinging time.
Anyone keen to team up on the Shore for a dirt hunt in the morning, or a beach session in the afternoon?

Excellent.

So, shall we hit sandy beaches or muddy soil?

That depends on where you would like to toil. Or on what you want to find. I am going to check out the sand tomorrow. Will report back on that.

1864Hatters' call, he's the host providing the location.

As far as I'm aware we'll be in the briney rather than in the dirt

A gold bug will be of no use where we are heading. Going in the sea with wetsuits on. You will find that there are better detectors for the beach than a gold bug. Unfortunately the salt water disagrees with most single frequency vlfs such as the gold bug. Trust me, I have tried. Both my gold bugs are now in permanent storage in the south island for when I get down there on holidays and hunt gold nuggets.
