Thats a marvellous selection of treasures - I love it. Those silver coins are getting more valuable all the time and well worth keeping for their silver content - great going.

That's a damn fine collection of assorted items. Much better than going out and finding zilch.

One advantage of looking for the yellow is that you don't need such a big place to store the finds, unless of course.............

Bet you're pleased you don't collect bottles.

Yes a great collection MSB.
Specially all those silver coins.
Well done.
If you can find that quantity around Timaru then
I think some of the early detectorists in Auckland
must be still grinning from the silver they must have found
probably about 20 years ago. Lucky whatnots.

sharp! I have 27 shillings all up, 6 of which are 1935 :)

I have the 2010 world cat value of coins so do keep an eye on values...trademe is a good place to look but look under expired and sold items not current ones...most people tend to ask too much lol

Sounds like I'm possibly coming to chch next weekend on the saturday to drink some beers and hunt the sunday...

Now you really have made me laugh - I collect everything!...including bottles and they dont take up half the space of the old windmills, stationary motors, gate valves, petrified tree trunk segments, general junk and the sluicing gun lying rusting in the back yard!

hi everyone happy new year n all that stuff! Hope ya's got drunk ate too much and found treasure. I'm yet to catch a bloody salmon but have had some nice trout trawling lake benmore :)

here's a coupla pics...I'm using a F4 now...pretty similar to me F2 really

Xmas day I hit a nice silver plated centenial celebration type medal

Yesterday I found a cool tiny NZ airforce badge/pin type thing...good find as was faint signal at 8 inches deep in dry hard soil...also found some deep shards of 1c coins so the F4 and 11"dd coil are working well :)

Sunday I got my first silver for the year...a wee 1934 thruppence.

Then I was fishing afterwards as was raining and had a beautiful large trout following my lure...nibbled a bit then splooosh me bloody silly dog fell off the bank into the hole and scared the bejeseus outta the fish. F*8$%5kn dog!! :)

Best of luck for all you buggers...gold gold gold!!! Lets get some!

Dan

Mate, the commemoration badge is top draw stuff but even that can't beat the fishing pic.
I'm betting what we can't see, is the chilly full of coldies and the big ole pack of fruit-mince pies tucked down the side.
Kiwi Christmas aye........ya just can't beat it!
