In the month of October each year New Zealand celebrates labour day with a public holiday. Each year Old Cromwell Incorporated runs an old fashioned Fair Day on this day in the precinct at Old Cromwell Town.
The Fair runs from 10am to 3p.m. and the precinct becomes a bustling place with
stalls selling all sorts of local arts and crafts
fair day activities such as old fashioned games – toss the horse-shoe
street theatre
raffles
displays from local groups
Music
And much, much more.
At this fair we join with The Otago Goldfields Heritage Trust and host the New Zealand National Gold panning Championships. For a small entry fee you can try your hand at panning for gold – you might just be lucky and win the first prize!
The Fair and Precinct is open free to the public. Come along and enjoy a great days fun amongst the historic stone buildings against the backdrop of the Central Otago landscape.

Sunday the 30th of October not the 24th (as that's the rugby world cup final!)
