Tip for today is nothing more than to rescan the hole after you've pulled 'the' target out.

Two (of many) holes today had obviously been previously plugged and each had a chunk of crushed or shredded ali can in the bottom (naughty, naughty)
Upon removing said debris and rechecking the hole, one also held a 1933 half crown, the other a silver ring.

If they were your holes, this is what I believe they call 'Karma' :)

Please pack out the junk, however rechecking the holes for goodies is entirely optional if I'm behind you!

I was going to say i was guilty of leaving some for the next detector to find but i wont.
Dig down to find a fire pit full of bottles and cans, can only cover it up and move on.
