Does anyone know of the area at all. I.e. Detecting at Eastern beaches and or any parks or reserves where anyone in the area has had any luck. Music point had been suggested to me but that's near wher I stay and it is a golf club so guess that puts it out of contention. Have xterra 705 so they may determine where I go. Haven't had any luck on Canterbury beaches previously. Many thanks. Snowdrop

I'd hit the really small coves and bays in that area - Sort of places you'd not think worth doing. I've pulled a couple of golds and various older bits and pieces from such wee bays. Any of the beaches around Aucks will hold goodies - if the sand hasn't piled in like it has up here!!! :(
