Out for the day with Andrew somewhere new and somewhere where we have been before, the new place served me well with 9 silvers and a silver ring, awesome Vickie silvers but half crown to worn to see the date.
Next place and it was just 1 silver and military pip and a few other things.

Ps..Made it over the 300 silver mark for the year

Thanks for the incentive Erick.

Was a bit disillusioned today, having spent an hour grubbing about on the bottom of a muddy swimming hole for no more than a dog tag and car key. Tomorrow I'm gonna break out the land machine, dig some dirt and get back on the silver trail.

Hi Eric

Crispy is on his way back home today after his Westport adventure. He didn't do quite as well as you, but he did score one major find.
I will leave up to him to enlighten you.

Fail Eric. No its not a Soverloy. Chrispy is saving the " Track of Golden Sovereigns " for his next adventure over here. Mind you I will have to blindfold him when I take him there. And no he didn't find the World War 1 Cannon buried on Victoria Square Westport, but it wasn't for lack of trying.

Chrispy you are a worse " Carrot Dangler" than me, you rascal.

And Eric, it is not the lost Muzzle Loading Cannon from Captain James Cooks ship " Endeavour" . Which when he was anchored offshore from Cape Foulwind in 1770. Legend has it that the cannon was rowed ashore in a longboat, to fire a twenty one gun salute to the reigning Monarch at the times birthday. Captain Cook chose to just use one cannon, but fire 21 rounds. Owing to the difficulty of getting twenty one cannons ashore and back to his ship. However owning to rough sea's developing after the salute was fired, Cook decided to abandon the cannon. And it was buried so as not to fall into the hands of the local population at the time. I have a rough idea of where they may have landed at Cape Foulwind, another adventure for me and Chrispy when he next comes over.

Wouldn't that be cool to have on display in the lounge , but I'm sure the heritage nazis would have something to say about that

If found below the high tide line would it be heritage or salvage laws that would apply. :-)
