Hi MW -

where did you find the reviews?

They look like they make a couple of variations so perhaps its the thicker SS are the ones to go for??

Thanks for the heads up

Hi Sycotoad

I've had one of these scoops since November last year and won't leave home without it. I Imported mind direct from the Ukraine off ebay but these Trade Me ones are the same price. Mind has the 9mm holes and I think these are the same.

Get the 2mm thick one. Abit more weight but that much stronger.

I work mind fairly hard in the sand ( you set a lot of suction) and found that I was breaking a wooden shovel handle every month so went to a fibreglass one and had not problem since.

The only other issue was that working it so hard I had to get a couple of extra 6mm S/S braces added about a month ago.

Having said that I absolutely love it.

On another subject I lost that Garrett pinpointer I got off you in the tide in Wellington a month or so ago and replaced it with a Deteknix. Highly recommend them.

Cheers

Hi oneounce -

Thats not good news losing your GPP however I know what you mean about the X-Pointer - I absolutely love mine

Thanks also about the scoops - I am looking at getting one a little later so thanks for your advice - I also looked at getting one of those ones you got a while back as well, however spent that money on another toy lol -

I hope things are going well for you

Syco, Can't recall sites with the reviews, most discussion was about how they are a knock-off of the Steyr Scoop.

Lashed out the coin for a trial, so will report back. And if it all turns to tears, then I have access to a marine fabricator who will do any necessaries for a beer :)

Not forking out $60 for express shipping though!

Update, apparently TM have cancelled the auction. (Seller not in possession of goods)

Ahh well... My old dunga works fine, albeit not as sexy as the fancy scoops.
