Out for a lazy Sunday afternoon at a Christchurch park, managed a pile of penny's, $4 and a HJ Halls half penny token, at a guess around 1860, haven't found one in a while so well pleased. No silvers but did find a 1950 half crown just as I was heading to the car.

Hi Roy and Chrispy, Its sitting in olive oil so will wait and see, I just gave it a quick rinse under water before taking pic. yeah nice find and strangely it was only say 30mm under the turf in a well hunted park 2 meters from a park bench, it showed in around 25-30 on the Id, because I was hoping for gold I had the Discrim down lowish, I'm guessing if it was well under the dirt it may have weathered better with a green patina.

Cool coin Eric, we found one up here in the Bay couple of years back tho it was the penny variety. Around 1860 from memory.
