And now my Windows Gadet is showing US$1802.0 as at 11:10am 11th.

With France the latest european country facing downgrading ...

I see $2000 rapidly approaching & won't be suprised if it's before the end of the month.

Boom!

There goes NZ$2200!

Get used to it folks.

Probably caused by the more bad news in Europe and the USA today, but here are two items of particular interest...

http://www.zerohedge.com...las-entire-gold-industry

and

http://www.zerohedge.com...ramble-physical-starting

The rumours are flying that places like JPM do NOT hold enough physical gold to satisfy all their clients they've been charging to store their physical gold (read: massive fraud). If this is the case whoever gets their gold out first will be the only ones to get the real stuff rather than empty paper promises. If this ends out to be true (I for one believe it is) then JPM will be forced on to the market to buy the gold they said they had. If you thought the price of gold now is high, when that happens....

BTW, if you want to get a good feel for the entire global disaster, zerohedge is the place to hang out.

Oroplata, you are such a bundle of joy.

How come shares in Oceana Gold have dropped so quickly then?.

Because the global share markets are disconnected with reality, dominated by computers trading with each other (and screwing small investors in the process) and propped up at the expense of other investments.

Gold passed $1900 USD this morning. Which is ~$2300 NZD. RISING RISING RISING.
Hehehe, it could be a bubble about to burst though...
