Hi all,

This has been asked before but I thought I would ask again in case anyone has any new info. Myself and a few friends are looking for rivers in the North Island to do some gold panning. We went down to Motueka last year and although we found no gold we did have a blast. The only problem is the distance since it involves a long drive and a ferry.

So ideally we'd like to find a river somewhere in the North Island ( between Welly and Taupo ) where at least some gold has been found. We don't actually mind not finding any as it's just the prospect of finding some that interests us. Any ideas?
