With how tight the regulations are without having a permit and with how many enviro's that will be on edge with the new mines in the gorge what do you think sluicing on the beach through decent black sand would be in the eyes of the law and more to the point in the eyes of the locals?

I mean to me it is not different than going to build a sand castle, it is just you actually can contribute to the economy with what you find.

Basically I do not want to ruffle feathers now that I am up here so is it going to be best to just leave it until I can afford to submit an application for some legal prospecting as a hobby (I am sure the government would love to see that.) Or should I just go for gold (Literally?) :P

Edit: Just looked at the applications, would they even approve of a hobby application?
