Hi guys, After seeing Gavzilla's finds from Xmas day it inspired me to stick local & go up in the hills for a look around. Detecting of course. Was a bit of a mission to say the least.....but I guess it sort of paid off. Here are just a few pics to give you an idea of the gold always sitting in the schist bed rock once I have got the signal & got through the over burden.

A nice sassy bit of gold down in a schist crevice

Down through the over burden & on to the schist bed rock

Ended up with three little pieces out of this schist bed rock once I smashed in to it.

To cut a long story short ended up with 33 pieces for just over 8 grams. Biggest just over .8 of a gram & smallest, two at just .06 of a gram.

So it is out there. :)

Cheers guys.

Good luck out there

JW :)

Thanks Nuggy. Happy New Year to you too mate & all the best for 2015.
I went for a look up around Campbell Creek & Potters No 2 up on the Old Man Range today. Had a dusting of snow over night but today was clear skies & sunshine. Most of the snow was gone by mid afternoon. Found 2 small bits of gold detecting. Yesterday I went for a sluice box up the Arrow & got a bit of colour. Then went for a detect & bugger me got 2 bits for just over 1 gram.....I couldnt believe where I found them.
I dropped in on Lanny's post to say hi & catch up with what they have been up to. Hadnt been on there for a while.

Take care,

Regards

John :)

Always good to see your gold - keeping me inspired!

Looks like I'll be down there next week on a dredging mission, will see if you're around when I get back out from the bush ;)
