Got out for a play this weekend. Only found a gram, but was good to be out on a mission bush bashing again armed with the Gold Bug Pro :)

That's a serious bit of water there Gavin. I am waiting to see what comes from the bottom of the pool.

Yeah, the water was a little chilly! I was hoping the waders I'd ordered would arrive before I left - they were waiting for me when I got back home. Oh well, next time.

Most of the wee nuggets were found in the water. I did actually find one more but the tweezers slipped and pinged it in a lazy arc back in to the creek. It was a bit undersized anyway so maybe it'll mature in to an adult and I'll find it on a future mission in there :P

Great photos Gavin and nice finds. I am off on my own mission next week and am determined to get my gold bug productive in the field (works really well at home)- so far it has turned up everything except gold-what coil did you use and did you find everything with the GB?

Well done Gavin. Good to see you practising catch & release........It will be bigger next year & also have a chance to reproduce....LOL :) Good effort mate & nice to see some pics too.

There are a couple of real small bits there....did you detect those or did you do a bit of panning as well??

Good luck out there

JW :)

some of those wee nuggets grow quickly. I have heard of them doubling in size from the time they are found to getting home and telling everyone about them.

Cheers guys :)

All were found with the GP Pro using the tiny 5" coil. The 3 tiny specs were just found alongside one of the larger pieces.

BTW: The match is probably a little misleading for size as it's one of those bigger matches I have lying around the house for lighting the fire, not your average pocket matchbox ones ;)

I like your BTW Gavin.
BTW I notice that other people use oversize dollar coins and really large 10 cent pieces to give scale to their finds.
