Been out and about learning how to use the teknetics delta 4000 (cheers sycotoad for hooking me up!). At any rate a run around my back yard and a good trawl through some bark playgrounds yielded plenty of coins, the most damaged ones being old 50c and 20c coins. One 6pence was found and some old 5c and 10c coins as well. I was also out with my GF and she found 10yen and most of the modern coins (inclusing the 2 dollar coin :< ).

Some of the odder finds include a door knob a piece of lead and a valve for a bike wheel.

This of course does not included the literal hundreds of pull tabs, bottle caps anddddddd foil paper things you get on like a primo or juice bottle top.

I will be looking into getting a lesche since both garden trawls have snapped or bent so if anyone has any sources I would be keen, and I also can appreciate now how handy having a pin pointer is (the next purchase after the lesche :P).

Good first outing there C4. Some of them coins look like they are from a playground as from the red tanin stains absorbed from the bark.
Good luck out there.

alright so went out for 3 hours or so and there is gold to be found! Yep found a 9ct gold ring and what looks like half of a silver locket (although no markings).

I also have reason to believe most of the coins I found have had some run in with a lawnmower :P all of the intact ones my gf found, they seem to however have stalactite type formations of tarnish on them O_O mostly pre 1964 coins such as one pennies six pence etc.

Finnally the only notable find from my back yard..... an old schweppes can, they certainly dont make them like they used to.
