WARNNING..!!!!!

Just a warning to anyone looking at buying gold off trademe. There has been a couple of scams lately, one about two weeks ago selling gold nuggets found in the Nevada mountain ranges. Turns out, all these nuggets were melted lead painted with gold paint. The trader run around 9 auctions, and around $3k lost to 7 different bidders. The second scam was a different trader (maybe linked to the first fraudster) selling melted scrap bullion witch seems to be just pieces of brass\bronze alloy in three auctions and around $3k lost to 2 diferent bidders. Awaiting fuul lab test to come back and will update when results arrive.

It just a real shame because most of the gold traders on TM are so honest and many are people that we work so hard alongside in the creeks, rivers, mountains, parks and beaches.

Shame on you Criminals..!!!!!!

It is now a police matter and will keep you all posted.

Thanks Dave

Thanks for that Dave. I was watching the ones with the supposed melted down scrap. Seemed too good to be true with the very cheap start bids. Cant say I saw the ones from Nevada......I am always looking.....glad I missed them then. Feel sorry for those who got ripped off. Dont suppose there was a return address??

Good luck out there

JW :)

Yes the melted scrap did seem to good to be true, but took a risk and put on a couple of auto bids and unfortunately won a couple of pieces.
Most of us who got ripped are in contact and the complaints are slowly been placed with the police.

Dave.

I was browsing the forum randomly yesterday, and this one made me raise an eyebrow when Creamer referred to it "turning the water blackish"

Suspect it's likely the same stuff.

Those dirty little M.Fers should be strung up.
The time, money and effort we put in to find the gold that we do, now when we go to sell some, we may not be able to get a fair market price because the buyer may not be sure if is genuine. That really pisses me off. I feel for those out there who have been ripped off. I know how I would feel, there are no words. I REALLY hope the police catch these !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡..¡¡
