RS badge and silver dime

Went out in the rain yesterday afternoon back to where I found the purse last weekend. Dug the Returned Services silver lapel badge,
1920 silver Mercury Dime and an English shilling too corroded to see much except a young Victoria's head outline plus eight bucks.

Anyone know if silver was used on the RS badge for both wars?
