I have had my AT Pro for 2 days now and I'm doing an area where I grew up and it has a fair bit of history, So far I have collected over $30 in gold coins, a good kilo or so of pennies, half pennies, and old decimal coins. I was just about fed up with pull tabs after digging them all day, but I've been told that is the only way to find gold is dig everything, I want to kiss that person who said that! After about 400 pull tabs I found gold YAY!

Let me be the first to congratulate you mate....awesome effort.
Absolutely right on the money with the dig everything philosophy....it will eventually pay off, and you just proved it.

Looks like a good chunk of gold there, and 400 tabs sounds about the right ratio!

Your haul so far sounds like you've got some prime real estate there... I expect that you'll find some real treats, look forward to the next installment.

Sure seems to be an interesting place, the locals thought so too and used it as their drinking grounds, yes there is good tresures to be had amongst the trash A LOT of trash, but hey thats part of it. Only got through about 20% of the area in 7hrs today, may have another go tomorrow and cover some more ground, if I find any more goodies worth sharing you will see them here.

Drinking spots have given me my best returns - hard work, sure, but once the ale flows, the coins etc fall... Don't write it off once you think you've cleared it. Go back after a while once you've got to grips with the machine, there'll be more that you missed first time. Guaranteed.

I cant agree more, only today i learned what an old 5c reacts like and the modern 10c, I passed over lots before curiosity got me digging. I'm sure I've missed a bit, but at least next time it wont be as much digging as most of the pull tabs have already been removed!

Thanks, I will be out of action for a while, only used my detector for a week and it's gone a bit loopy, I don't blame it though, too much time alone with me would make anyone loopy :) So my poor detector has been sent away for repairs, unfortunately the repair tech is away for a few days so won't be looked at till he gets back. Looking forward to it's return so I can get back out there before work picks up and I won't get the time due to long hours.
