In the UK visiting the relies and decided to have a wee detect in some local fields today with my old man. He was doing the swinging with his Whites DFX metal detector, I was doing the digging.
He knew that an old path crossed the field that's been used for 100's of years. Didn't take us long to find the oldest coin we've ever found detecting - a badly corroded 1757 George II halfpenny. Made my day!
