I found this small copper? coin about a year ago. It is about the size of a threepence.

What caught my eye was the tiny round domes around the edge. Usually the edge marks are more
rectangular in shape and so much closer together.

Although it is really stuffed it would be good to know what it is if anyone has any ideas,

Looks Indian or similar type coin to me. Did a quick google image search and although some were close - no cigar but could be from an Asian country or island.

Have you done a tin foil rub to see if the writing or symbols become more identifiable?

Hi Grant,

No have not done the tinfoil trick yet. It is quite small and so handling is a bit tricky.
The only coins I can find so far that used the raised domes are these fake copies from
Shri Lanka.

That's a tough one as Shilo said "no cigar".

Maybe we could just pretend it's this one for some closure *8^)
