There was a copy of that book in that auction as well.......& on trademe at the moment. Yes it is a good read & some good reasearch went in to the making of it. Moonlight is a fasinating & cool place to explore & hunt out some gold.

Just reading that Howard Keene book, Jesus, someone had gold fever! Putting a 1000 ft mine (or 2) 1/2 way up a mountain where the Tar are holding on with their teeth and the entrance to the mine is in a rock slide. Impressive stuff. Have talked to two natives (musters) who have been in the mine and say its a pretty daunting place, every so often the entrance to the mines are exposed when the rock slide moves. Said to be well worth a look if you enjoy a refreshing walk, get your weather right and don't visit in earthquakes. Or is someone trying to put me off? Wonder why?
