Some where I read that there was a get together monthly with folk for metal detecting in Christchuch. Somehow I cannot find that info now. Can anyone help me with this? Also are there any other ladies that are interested in this hobby? many thanks. Snowdrop

Hi there Snowdrop. There may be a CHCH club, details as follows.

Canterbury Metal Detectors Club.
Last sunday of each month. 6.30pm Papanui Workmens Club.

Best to inquire here to see what's happening.

Hi Snowdrop,
As far as I am aware, there has not been a club meeting since at least the middle of last year. The few meetings I went to, were never well attended...lucky to have four or five unofficial members there. I think Simon (expat), who used to organise things, has other priorities these days.
It would be great to see it start up again but it needs someone to take charge and organise reminders etc. Wish I had the time for this myself but with work, family and sports commitments I just couldn't give it the time needed to develop a consistant approch....but willing to support someone who is prepared to give it a whirl!
Maybe this thread is the one required to kick-start the club back into life? I for one, would make every effort to be at the meetings and would encourage all other ex unofficial members and potential newbee's to attend.
