selling my old Goldbug ( not a pro or 2).

Had it almost 2 years and has found me gold but i'm off traveling in a few months to Canada. so instead of storing it i may as well sell it.

It's had a hard lift but works fine still.

few scratches and the power knob cover and battery boor are missing.

Has two 5" coils. i wore through one so glue it and taped a milk bottle over the bottom, still works well but not water prof. The newer one it fine but a little touch sensitive so i use the old one more.

Open to sensible offers.

I'm in Queenstown.

Hi Luke, Is this the same detector, in the post that you made below, that has had all this abuse that you are selling here now?

Topic: Gold Bug 2 vs Gold Bug Pro for finding gold in NZ

I have the cheap Goldbug (not the pro) and find lots. been over well hunted ground and still pick up bit.
the build is a bit crap but i do give it some abuse. I abseil in to get to places most can't and even use it on the side of cliffs on the way down. last month i fell 15ft in to the kawarau river. took the battery out and dried it out with a hair dried when i got home and works fine still. its been under water and dried out 4 times now. fallen off cliffs and rocks rolled over it, fallen off the back of my motorbike too. The battery door and one of the rubbers for the knobs is missing, the casings is taped up to stop the water and dust getting in. but it keeps going.

The only down side is i had to buy a new coil as the first one stopped working. i thought it had got water in as i was using it in the rivers heaps. But found out one of the wires at the other end had come loss. fixed it so now have a spear coil.

yep The same one, still going strong. has found me an Oz or two.

if someone want to give gold detecting a go then this is way better then anything else at $400. Nothing wrong with it just well used.
