Something to consider before shelling out thousands on your next detector -

I have yet to see a park ruined by metal detecting.

There is more damage done by gold prospectors than any metal detectorist hunting a PUBLIC park -

If you don't believe me I can point out some of those dangerous shafts in the Longwoods if you like -

Whether in a park or in the middle of the bush - FILL in your holes.......

or we could point fingers at each other all day and grizzle like a bunch of tupperware party addicts

It must be hard detecting in ozzy parks being so dry..I don't dig on grass in the summer when its hard and dry because its so hard to keep it tidy:) I try to stick to bark play grounds and beaches till there is some rain.. Thats just me.
They cant ban it anyway. I will still detect and pay my fines in silver lol:)

I think I have forgotten what park detecting is like.....best to stick to the winter months so the ground can recover.

I don't detect parks or any council areas but I don't see the harm if discrete plugs are dug it's the same old storey of a few f#%ktards ruining it for the majority I hate c#*ts like that they highlite the worst of any activity if someone catchs a retard digging messy holes take1 for the team and smash them and there detector it's about the only thing some of these losers will respect...a good hiding .

Hmmm so a no dig policy in Auzzie eh...Hmmmmmm but not a total ban on metal detecting......I would go swing the coil about in the light of day in places where I would normally not go and detect....just search for good silver hoard and gold signals lol...then go back in the dead of night on the new moon, in the crappiest weather....armed like Rambo with a pinpointer ;)

Hope it does not take affect in o'l godzone for a while, but the council's will have to enforce our own code of ethics on us if they are made more aware of damage etc...if they get a complaint they have to act.....some might see this as an opportunity to stir and act as provocateurs drawing attention to a perceived problem in order to implement laws etc........ a ban would make people more militant on both sides of the fence.
