Hi guys im just wondering if any of you knowledgeable fellas have any info on gold found in the pakawau area.

I have two books that mention gold in the pakawau area. However I cant find anything about early discoveries on the internet and have not read about any significant finds. Have asked arround a bit and it apears that a farmer 'speed robinson' used to mine gold on the northen stream of his farm in puponga, apparantly a few streams past billy king creek so it is there.

Any ideas on which creeks in that area should or do carry gold ??

yeah theres definetely gold around there .. also there are apparently a couple of brothers that own some land in Mangarakau over the hill and are more than happy to have people fossick around whether they are there or not.. standby and I'll try and get there names for ya!...chuckle.
