Can any one help me? - Trying to find out whether a small gold pendant is anything

Hi

I have found a small rectangle gold pendant but it is very old and faded so I am unable to make a lot of it out clearly. It is about a 1cm long and 5mm wide and 2mm thick. On the front it is plain and curved and on the back is a serial number 765? (We think a 3 or an 8) under this is an octogon with another inside that says gold inside at the top and something else at the bottom (unreadable). With a small seahorse in the bottom right hand corner.

If any one could shed some light on what this might be I would be very great full.
