Beach detector, - Need to replace gold bug

How's it going, I'm going to be hitting the beach a lot more so need a beach detector. Ideally waterproof but would consider anything for a start. Anybody got something they no longer need, for under a grand? Eventually I'd like an Excalibur or ctx.
