Spent a few hours down the local with Foiled, it was a awesome day for it & managed a few interesting finds with the best being a superb NZ Signal Corps hat badge...this badge is big & it cleaned up really nice, so stoked!! Also scored my second ever token a 1875 Gaisford & Edmond...butchers on Colombo st. The gold watch thing made the old heart jump a bit when I first saw it!! haha but no not solid, has 'gold plated 10 microns'. Throw in a few silvers, pennies & halfs with a good scoop of 1s & 2s and you have a great day!! bring on the next one.

Very nice indeed, brilliant badge.

I have a semi serious question. I am soon to meet up with a Cantab member, and was wondering what you guys get up to ( when out together) when someone finds an awesome find?

Do you try and hide, or downplay the find? Or is the celebration of the find something similar to witnessing KG & the Ring Master rolling around on the ground and climbing trees? I think someone could do very nicely following behind those two gathering treasure which has fallen from their pouches!

Cheers Iggy

Hey coinnut, that hat badge is simply awesome....what a great find.....but the token will always be a personal favourite. So much Christchurch social history attached to a find like that.....lovin it!

Hey Iggy for me when I find something good i don't like to draw to much attention usually walk over to someone and show it off haha but I remember when I found my sov I was in shock kinda sat there for a second & didn't know what to do....something I'll never forget just need to find another!!! So your meeting up with a fellow cantab, are you coming to chch?

I think that is the plan and try and stay off the raydar, so to speak. Quite often I don't know what I have until I get it home to clean it up a bit.
Andrew is coming down this way, so looking forward to going out for a look with him. Pretty confident of finding a Sov or two each (ha I wish), so was just checking to see what the normal thing to do is. As you know you cant believe everything you see on the telly. Keep up the great finds.

Awesome stuff , thanks Foiled. I guess the first step is to try and actually find something brilliant and then whatever happens, happens.
