Gidday folks

Big grin on my face as I am going to get myself a new machine. Can't say what it is yet cos everyone will want one. If after I get it and it turns out that I am useless with it, then I will tell you, but in the meantime, you have to be patient.

Pleased to say "IT" has been ordered and paid for, just wanting IT to turn up now. Oh well. Wife gets a new full suspension mountain bike so it is only fair that I am allowed to splash out on a new toy, I mean, money making tool.

I'm going to be grouchy(er) to the kids while I'm waiting for the courier company to find me. I suppose I should buy them something as well. What would you guys propose?

Detector arrived by courier this morning under whacky circumstances. Rang courier company to see what time they thought my package might get dropped off as I was going to Nelson for the day. Told by lunchtime. Buggar. Left for Nelson via 3 Bears cafe down at the shops. Got there to find that I had left my wallet at home. Back on the car turned into our street and what did I see? Yes the courier van had been to our place already. Managed to flag her down and asked if she had a parcel for me. Yes indeed. Needless to say, raced home, ripped open the box and grabbed the manual out, put box in bedroom then wallet and out the do or. Read it, well written and easy to follow. Happy chappy. Hope to get out tomorrow sometime. Let you know how I go.
Oh yes. It is a XP Deus.

Got out for a hunt in my usual parks. Detector easy to use and very clear signals and easy pinpointing. Just the usual hated 1 and 2 cent pieces, an old button and a ring. Yay, but just a junker but I can say I found a ring on my first hunt with new detector. Would like my propointer to behave better though, if its not careful I might trade that in as well.

Awesome. I'll be keenly reading your posts and thoughts on the performance of the XP Deus. From everything I've read and seen, the Deus is easily the most versatile and adaptable machine on the market...light years ahead of anything else currently out there.
Don't quite get why people are so convinced that the Etrac is comparable. From all I've seen and read, Deus is far superior....easy to program and use, whereas the Etrac is complicated to learn and not user friendly.
I'm more than happy to be proved wrong on this tho..especially seeing as I have never actually used either machine...:)

Hi Jimmy

I have used and owned both machines. The xp is physically light but a single freq detector (4 selectable frequencies). Solely for coin shooting etc the deus is a good machine.

Personally I would hold out for a CTX or etrac. The Deus is very "fast" and good in trash. The reason I would go for the etrac is aftermarket coils etc. The ctx would be better if you can get one on ebay secondhand. Only reason I would say better is you have the option to use it in the water. Rain not a problem....hose not a problem.

Minelabs service has also been very good. I sent my Ctx in for repair on a few items last week and came back like new.
