I found this ring thingee on the weekend but not sure if it actually is a ring
as the ID is only about 17mm. Seems to be brass.
Any idea's?

I think its perhaps a finial which finished off the handle end of things like walking canes and sticks, riding crops etc. My guess it was gilded too in its day and would have looked really stunning.



My greatest fear is that when I die my wife will sell my collection for what I told her it cost me.
