Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum but have been a long time mineral collector. I am trying to find for sale any slabs of epithermal crustiform banded quartz/chalcedony. I collect a lot of ore specimens from various mining localities around the world and this has by far been the hardest!

Examples of epithermal systems in New Zealand would be Waihi and Golden Cross. I am after examples of these types of ore systems, the samples don't necessarily have to have electrum or any other mineralisation associated, but am happy to pay premium if there were mineralised examples out there.

Thanks for your help and some members may even be able to point me in the right direction for collecting these specimens also.

BTW I do also have other ore slabs that am happy to swap, I have lots of examples from VMS systems with crystallised banded sphalerite, galena and chalcopyrite from Tasmania. Also have some ultramafic related pentlandite also from Tasmania.
