Quite often I see on detecting forums people saying they find
something new when they re check their finds.
Well this happened to me recently too when I took another
look at what I thought was my oldest coin, an 1845 penny and found it was actually
an 1845 East India Company One cent piece.

I really cannot recall what the oldest coin is I have found with a metal detector but it may have been an 1826 shilling but the oldest coins I have is 400BC and I have several dozen 'ordinary' BC coins. The oldest penny I have is about 1100AD
