So having a talk with a mate and he is looking for high pressure . But I think there is a balance between the two . What pressure/gpm do you guys run . What do you guys think ?

the reality is you need both, high pressure without volume just isnt going to do much. A keene p350 pumps way more water than a P180, but has 20m less head pressure, but the volume the P350 pumps is significantly greater . Takes more HP to drive it. What I believe people should say is that it is volume at velocity which is important.

Keene engineering have put much thought into this subject pressure vs volume . Keene pumps or Proline are the best , I am sure most dredgers here would be using P180 or P350 , i am using a P350 and it kicks arse , i am very happy with it. Pressure is not the total answer as volume is also required. High pressure creates poor suction , when you marry together pressure and volume you have the formula. Most common pumps are designed for fire fighting at a high pressure or moving water at high volume but give poor performance on a dredge. This is my experience with the pressure vs volume. As stated above , volume at velocity is the feature and design of keene pumps.
