Does anyone know the ins and outs of a prospecting permit? For example are the costs similar to a mining permit? and exactly what does the prospecting permit allow you to do? I'm guessing you have to negotiate access with the land owner/owners as per a mining permit? The permit would be for a river.

Cheers

go to nzpam, it tells you the ins and outs of each permit type. still costs a lot, needs more detailed reporting and only valid for a few years. also think now they are non exclusive (I think haven't read up on the changes) so pretty much someone can claim a mining permit over a prospecting permit and you lose the ground. waste of time IMO.
