I have been building a highbanker for my sluice today and needed to do some test runs to see how things flowed. The only gravel I could find was a pile of AP40 gravel we use on the driveway, so I put about 4 shovel fulls through. Everything seemed to work pretty good and I thought what the heck I may as well pan out what Id caught. I ended up with about 30 colours . I had packed the sluice up by then but I went down later and got 6 fine specks in a pan. So I guess if you cant afford a claim or you cant get to a public fossicking area you can always get paydirt dropped off to your home

I recall one of the Alaska gold programs had someone claiming a lot of the gravel drives in certain areas still have nuggets mixed in with them. Drooooool.
