So I went out for a scratch around with my brother yesterday. We ran lots of material through the sluice box, we had that set up between the two big rocks at the bottom of the picture and were able to drag the material straight into it. As you can see we dug a massive hole. There are close ups of the three biggest bits and a group shot of the gold sitting on the scales. Anyone want to venture a guess as to what the white rocks are? We found another one the size of a mandarin. Hint- they are heavy! So all in all not hugely productive but lots of fun and some more gold to add to the jar. I also detected some nearby terraces but found nothing of interest, just iron junk.

All the best out there.

Scheelite it is! I have found small sand sized bits of it in other rivers before but this place seems to have a good amount of it.
