Hi. I live on the coast and have a suction dredge claim. Sometimes I actually make some money off it but mostly its just a really nice place to eat my lunch lol.

Anywhere on the coast is great for eating your lunch - and getting wet - and shooting mozzies with an anti aircraft gun - but its changed since I lived there! last time I was there I was stalked by someone who I guess was keeping an eye on his potato patch and where it had been all magnificent native bush in my day it was blasted pine trees and black patches where cars had been burnt out and even a car body still there waiting I assume to be burnt out...Totora Flat...Grey River Valley.
I got some nice photos of gold from near there...but sadly promised not to put them on here...plates full of the stuff.

Welcome aboard harrop - good to see you on the site :) Any dredge in action photos to share? Maybe one day I'll take some time out from the office and have a go myself!

Hi guys. Ive only seen a couple of places where spuds have been grown in the past. I'm quite partial to salami in wholemeal buns:}. I have the best office in the world! I have a few photos floatn round some where but will take some more as soon as I get the dredge back in the water which weather permiting will be next week. Been doing some mods to it to try and hang on to the fine gold which is present almost everywhere. Hope it works otherwise I will have to get a real job.

sigh....sounds like the life I NEED to live!!

Salami you say? Hmmm I have like 12 rolls of that in my fridge from a killed beast right now lol wanna swap some gold :)

I'm keen to try somewhere on the coast out when the lads come over on the annual week of whitebaiting trip. And If I find no gold, guaranteed I will definitely hav a nice lunch somewhere seeing as I'm part labrador!! I'm also looking for local knowledge so I can take the jetboat up some cool skinny bits of creek water...know anywhere good?

Ultimate day/s would be jetboat to area, lunch and then gold fossick for few hours before boating back out...I supply gas if someone supplies local knowledge :)

That sounds like a plan. Theres a river handy that I'm pretty sure hasn't been dredged which I'm quite keen to prospect with the dredge. Jet boats head up it all the time.
Theres another river further away that has a claim in it's headwaters also real keen on getting the dredge in there. Not to sure weather you can get a boat up it or not. Theres also a couple of gorges that could be quite interesting to prospect. None of the ares I've mentioned are under claims. Yet!
