hey there goldstalker hows the dredging going? don't know what your budget is but ive got a pac10 compressor (from proline) its a 2 man compressor brand new unused still in box, have got belt and a factory baseplate to mount Honda engine and compressor to. was going to list it on trademe in the next few weeks. cost me 1500 a year and half ago but the dollar has crapped now and its in your favour lol. 1000 for comp, belt, plate andguard. not sure on what freight up coast would be its fairly heavy could find out if youre interested.

........ and for an extra 10k ill throw in a 5"proline with hws lol.

yea man I checked up the price before my post, its all good and well to say 650 usd but theres customs, duty and freight you would struggle to get 1 landed with belt and baseplate for under $1000, was a long shot thought you would be after something cheaper, the kacs are a cheaper option just be sure to buy a new 1 as they have changed the design and the old 1s crap out pretty quick, the regulators are pretty cheap on trademe as well around 150 I think for the keene ones, you can use a scuba 1 if you've got a mate with tanks, just unscrew from the octi and get a brass fitting that threads into the end a quick release fitting and youre set. I think the KACs you can possibly get away with a plastic reserve but check with keene 1st the pac or gast you would need a steel one (stainless) cos theyre way higher pressure, you must be dredging deep? t80 should do 2 guys at 2- 2.5m easy unless someone puffing away hard out lol.

sweet thanks for the info, and ive got a good 9 litre stainless reserve tank made from a water filled exstinguisher. i will try to run 2 of us off the T80 but will upgrade soon enough when i can get some gold,i use a oceanic gt3 reg but there on trademe for $250 there the keene ones, i just bought a scuba reg for $40 on tradme it might work but might be harder to draw breath than the low pressure reg,not sure what you mean about( got a mate with tanks unscrew from octi) ? any help be great . the one i bought come with 2 hoses both are for scuba and dont fit. my hose off my keene reg screws on so ill get one of those when i tried it on the dredge it seemd abit harder to take a breath than my keene low pressure reg, and im only diving like 2.5 - 3 metres max shallower at times, so you think the T80 will do the job ? my one isnt a blue one its red and white looks like a T80, but i seen the blue T80s do 45psi were as mine has a 55psi pop off valve and it pops so mine would be 60psi ? any ideas there lol :)

yea my 1st t80 was the red and white type, and all I used was 2 scuba regulators, they were still all attached to the old mans scuba gear the octi the bit that screws into the tanks, I usnscewed regulator and the short hose attatched to it, they have a funny thread but the local hardware store had brass air fittings that fitted and allowed me to put a quick connect fitting on it. had no troubles breathing think it was easier then the current low pressure ones ive got now, might play up if you drop below 20psi.

give it a go with 2 people, its alright when its straight forward but if someones grunting away on massive rocks/boulders they can fair suck the air back and you could run short for a few seconds, same if they've never been under or had much exp they can breath fast and waste air. another benefit of a larger compressor is the higher pressure gives you a few more breaths when the engine quits, and can also run airtools. chisels etc if your on broken bedrock. I see the kac on TM dosent look like it comes with fittings or filter either? do you need the wire whip hose for the kac too? forgot to mention that 1000 includes a whip hose as well (wire wrapped steam hose as normal airline melts in a minute or 2 of use)

you can wind the pressure valve up a bit more theyre all adjustable on the dredge compresors but if you try get too many psi you can do a bearing or blow the diaphragm. think t80s are spose to be 55max to avoid damage.
